Serengeti National Park

The Land of Endless Plains and the Great Migration

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s most iconic safari destination. Stretching across over 14,750 square kilometers, the Serengeti is a breathtaking expanse of savannah, woodland, and riverine ecosystems, home to one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth — the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Every year, over 2 million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles thunder across the plains in a dramatic search for water and fresh grazing. This primal journey, accompanied by stalking predators, epic river crossings, and heart-pounding drama, draws nature lovers and filmmakers from around the globe.

Best Time to Visit

June–October: Dry season, best for general wildlife viewing and the northern migration.

    • January–March: Calving season in the southern plains — predators are very active.

    • April–May: Green season, fewer tourists, and stunning photography opportunities (occasional rains).
