1-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Hike (Marangu Route)
Begin your adventure with an early morning departure from Arusha to Marangu Gate, the starting point of your Mount Kilimanjaro day hike. After completing park registration and meeting your experienced guide, you’ll set off through the lush rainforest, home to towering trees, colorful birds, and playful colobus monkeys. Enjoy a picnic lunch along the trail before continuing to Mandara Hut (2,720 m), with the option of taking a short walk to Maundi Crater for breathtaking views of Kenya and Northern Tanzania. After soaking in the scenery, descend back to Marangu Gate and return to Arusha, arriving in the evening after an unforgettable day on Africa’s highest mountain.
2-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Hike (Marangu Route)
Day 1
Depart Arusha in the morning and drive to Marangu Gate for registration. Begin your guided hike through the rainforest, enjoying the rich flora and fauna along the way. Arrive at Mandara Hut (2,720 m) in the afternoon, with an optional walk to Maundi Crater for stunning views. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Mandara Hut.
Day 2
After breakfast, continue hiking above the rainforest into the heath and moorland zone toward Horombo Hut (3,720 m), where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Mawenzi Peak and Kibo. After lunch at Horombo Hut, descend back through Mandara Hut to Marangu Gate, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Arusha.
